Integration of the facial recognition system into the Arquia app

We have developed for Arquia Banca the first Home Banking app in Spain that allows users to access their accounts without passwords, with the integration of FacePhi’s facial recognition system.

Thanks to facial biometrics, a gesture as simple as a selfie is suficient for the user to consult their bank accounts quickly, simply and securely. The integration of this system is a definitive step in the commitment to digitalization, offering an improved user experience with the maximum guarantee of security. In addition, the limitations of the physical network of offices in the national territory are solved, since the most common operations can be performed from the Smartphone.

Arquia is a financial institution created in 1983 to meet the specific savings and credit needs of professionals. Specialized at the beginning in the financial problems of architects, it offers professionals the best economic conditions of remuneration and cost of money, in free competition with banks and savings banks.

Description

Arquia customers can access their bank accounts anytime, anywhere, regardless of their mobile operating system. The development of the app, carried out by our Mobile team, is completed with the integration of FacePhi’s facial recognition technology, called Selphi (available on iOS and Android), which is a plus in terms of accessibility, speed and convenience. Simply place the user in front of the phone’s camera in selfie mode, and the system will recognize their facial features accurately, unambiguously and securely. It also identifies the smartphone from which the access is made and maintains the requirement of additional passwords to perform operations, so that this new system does not involve transactional risk. It is also the first home banking app in Spain developed entirely in Xamarin.
