(Update) Mobile World Congress 2020 cancelled due to Coronavirus

Equipo Comunicacion 13/02/2020

*Update: On February 13, 2020, the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress was announced due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are more than delighted to announce that, once again, Pasiona will be part of the world’s largest event around mobile connectivity. Next February we will show at the Mobile World Congress 2020, in Barcelona, our most cutting-edge technological projects in the fields of Mobile, Artificial Intelligence and Accessibility, among others. You will find the Pasiona team at stand CS30-16, in the Spain Pavilion area.

Accessibility has become a top priority. In the field of mobile applications, its importance is especially relevant given the volume of users and the limitations that anyone, at any given time, can find at the level of usability. From our stand at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) we will show the optimal solutions to comply with a requirement that goes beyond ethics: it is obliged by law and subject to harsh economic sanctions.

Companies that embark on the development of a mobile app for their business, of whatever type, must count on being accessible not only to people with blindness or reduced mobility, but to any user with a temporary disability, such as conjunctivitis or a physical injury. However, and despite the fact that we are already fully in the era of 5G, browsing websites and mobile apps continues to be an odyssey for the 4 million people who have some type of disability in Spain, 1,000 million worldwide. This is how Juanjo Montiel, blind developer and head of Accessibility at Pasiona, explains:

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 will be held between February 24 and 27 with a forecast of 110,000 attendees, thus surpassing the record figures of 2019. This year’s edition revolves around the integration of 5G technology and two current thematic issues: the climate emergency and the presence of women in the computer field, which will be channeled through the Women4Tech event. The organization estimates that this year’s event will leave 492 million euros in Barcelona and Hospitalet.
