The format will be the same as always: four talks, a networking breakfast and a good time with friends, enjoying what we are most passionate about: technology. With a very important novelty: Bernat Aguadé, special guest who will talk to us about Blockchain, and to whom we greatly appreciate his availability, as well as the support always provided by the Movistar Centre.
This is Saturday’s agenda:
09.40h Reception of attendees
10.00h-10.45h Introduction to blockchain and its applications
Bernat Aguadé
This lecture will explain what blockchain is, as well as its process of transaction validation and block creation (POW). We will also talk about hard froks and soft forks, and finally we will compare public and private blockchains.
10.45h-11.30h Azure Alerts: Have you tried restarting?
Angel Garcia
Tuuuuuuuuu… tuuuuuuuuuuu
(pick up the phone)
User support, good morning, Fran attends you.
Hello, look… is that my website does not work.
Could you define does not work?
That I go in and it doesn’t go.
And… Have you tried rebooting?
The cloud? My website is in Azure.
And… Have you really tried rebooting?
It will be gil**…
(hang up the phone)
You may have had to face the configuration (and maintenance) of a production environment to run your development. And, normally, such a production environment should be up & running 24/7.
Using Azure Web Alerts, we can control different metrics of our applications, such as CPU, memory… But are you going to be available 24/7 to only have to restart the web app when the system sends you an email if one of these metrics is met?
In this session we will learn how to use Azure Web Alerts and how to extend the available actions to react to an alert using our own Azure Restart Function.
11.30h – 12.00h [Desayuno Networking]
12.00h – 12.45h Event Grid, colleague what happens in my cloud?
Nacho Fanjul
One of the first concerns of customers when you tell them to move their infrastructure to the cloud, is that they lose control over it… Your job is to convince them and teach them that this is not the case, that they will even have more control… To achieve this, Azure provides us with Event Grid, an artifact with which we can know what is happening in our cloud almost in real time and much more … In this session we will see the possibilities offered by Event Grid and for this we will combine it with Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
12.45h – 13.30h Traveling into space with CosmosDB
Manu Delgado
In this talk, we will talk and demonstrate one of these new Azure services that at the moment is unknown and not much is known about it. What will it serve and that CosmosDB will bring us. It will allow us to travel back in time or it will only have a good name!!!!.
