Management of the status of Barcelona bus stops

Web development of an application for the control of the information systems of the bus stops of the AMB (Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona).

These systems inform the user of the transit times of the different buses, messages or planned announcements, as well as inform the central system of the status or any incident at any of the stops. The application is a multi-language and multi-client web application that allows to configure each of the stops remotely as well as to perform the quality control and the management of the maintenance and incidental actions carried out by the maintenance operators.

Description

One of the biggest challenges was the synchronization of all the information from the stops, which is sent daily several times per minute, in a highly optimal and scalable data services system, offering auditing and data control actions to know at all times the quality of the service offered. The development process was carried out with the Usability team and under Pasiona’s Agile PMT methodology (based on SCRUM) to offer at all times the best product according to the real needs of the client. The system operates under a high availability and uninterrupted operation environment.
