Accreditation of AppSalut portal applications

The Generalitat de Catalunya has entrusted us with the technological, security and usability accreditation of the applications that are part of the new AppSalut portal.

The TicSalud Foundation is an organization of the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Generalitat of Catalonia). It works to promote the development and use of ICT and networking in the health sector. It acts as an observatory for new trends, innovation, and monitoring of emerging initiatives, and offers product standardization and approval services.

The AppSalut portal is a showcase of applications in the health and wellness sector that have passed an accreditation process that establishes a safe and trusted environment for the use of this technology. The apps are available completely free of charge for both iOS and Android devices. The AppSalut portal allows the direct download of applications through a link from the official download markets.

 

Description

El proceso de acreditación de las aplicaciones de AppSalut está formado por 120 criterios, agrupados en cuatro bloques: grado de usabilidad de la aplicación; aspectos tecnológicos: aspectos de seguridad y aspectos de contenido en su vertiente clínica en base a evidencias o guías clínicas aprobadas. The Pasiona team is responsible for the first three blocks of accreditation, ensuring that the application meets the technological, usability and security criteria required to be included in the portal. The fourth block, concerning medical content, is left to the health and wellness specialists themselves.

The portal is a highly useful tool for app developers, who are offered a unified showcase accredited by the Generalitat (Catalan Government); for healthcare professionals, who can directly view all the data generated by users in an organized and aggregated manner and even incorporate it directly into the user’s medical history; and for citizens, who have a space in AppSalut where they can access apps with all the security and reliability that comes with the prior validation process.
